Dell Sr Analyst, Solution Architect in Durham, North Carolina
As a part of CPSD ESD Fabric Engineering team you will be responsible for working collaboratively with a variety of people across Engineering, QA, Product management, Program office, Manufacturing and Global Services to evaluate and deliver on new VxRack feature & designs requests. You will also be responsible to determine the effort required to implement, design and develop the detailed configuration specifications and related documentation.
This role will be a “Work From Home” role, but the selected candidate must reside within a commutable distance from our Durham, NC office for routine meetings and team gatherings.
As an engineer within the CPSD ESD Fabric Engineering team you will work closely with the other Architects, Engineers, your peers in other CPSD ESD teams, QA, Global Services, and Manufacturing to develop new offerings or update the current offerings to address new functional requirements and market demand. You will develop, validate and document a product design that encompasses a sound strategy based on existing proven VxRack designs wherever possible and using best-of-breed parent company products. Your optimized designs will use common hardware, physical composition, and logical configurations where possible to provide a VxRack look-and-feel to all solutions marketed by DellEMC CPSD.
Skills & Knowledge:
10 years of experience in data center/Cloud technology related roles
5+ years of experience with hypervisors (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V) Installation, Configuration and Administration
Experience in a product engineering, service provider environment, or consultative role related to private cloud or converged infrastructure projects
Strong hands-on experience in one or more of the following technologies. A broad spectrum of experience is highly desired, as is a deep specialization in one or more:
Virtual Storage Array Technology: eg: DellEMC ScaleIO, VMWare VSAN
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Platform installation, configuration and management
Networking (Nexus, MDS, ACI, NSX or other SDN)
Data Protection: eg: VPLEX, Recover Point, Avamar, etc.
Hands-on experience with rack-based dense compute platforms
Strong experience with competitive converged infrastructure stacks, hypervisors and backup/recovery solutions can replace some of the requirements above
Experience with an Agile software development environment is highly desirable
Other Job Requirements:
Bachelors (CS/EE/Technology) or equivalent workplace experience
Strong written and oral communication skills
Decisive but inclusive decision making in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently with light supervision
Able to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively with various stakeholders
Enjoy working hands-on in a lab environment to conduct system installation, configuration and design validation
