Title: Transformation Office Change Management and Communications


The Transformation Office of Virtustream is entrusted by the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to manage the intersection of people, process and technology to define new ways of working at Virtustream. Our purpose is to deliver and enable the future-state cross functional operating model, processes and technologies that position Virtustream to accelerate our strategic

growth objectives.

Role Purpose / Objective:

  • Support Change Management for Transformation Office Initiatives

  • Champion Change Management and its benefits in the wider organization

  • Plan and execute Transformation Office’s internal communications

  • Support and champion the overall transformation office mission and goals

Principal Responsibilities

Change Management for Transformation Office Projects

  • Apply a change management process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.

  • Prepare change management strategies and plans, integrate plans with project planning

  • Provide input, document requirements and support the design and delivery of training programs when needed

  • Execute change management activities, collaborating with program / project lead, SME’s and key stakeholders

  • Define methods of monitoring adoption, assign ownership of monitoring processes, drive active monitoring and timely resolution of identified adoption gaps and issues

  • Champion change management in the wider organization, collaborate and communicate – continually identifying and using opportunities to further the organizations change management awareness.


  • Create and Execute internal communications plans for the Transformation Office

  • Develop, write, edit and finalize a wide range of communications as needed for our internal audience

  • Create compelling visual communications to increase impact of communications

  • Adhere to the organization’s style guide and policies around communications

  • Ensure that quality, schedule and budget goals are met.

  • Determine the best way to apply consistent themes to messaging

  • Establish and continually refresh the web presence for the Transformation Office Team

  • Collaborate closely with team and department leaders to stay current on division priorities and developments

  • Work with Transformation Office leader and colleagues to gather content for newsletters, ongoing communications.

  • Collaborate and seek feedback from others in order to create the most effective possible messaging

  • Coordinate and collaborate with other Virtustream departments who are planning and executing internal communications

  • Support change management at the organizational level by modelling effective change management, influencing others’ awareness and appreciation of change management, working within the organization to increase overall change management capability

  • Collaborate with program/project management for Transformation Office efforts to ensure adoption of change management approach and activities and to provide first class support to project/program leads.

Required Experience / Skills / Abilities

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in related field, or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, journalism or graphic design

  • Minimum five years in communication-focused role including at least two years of hands on change management experience

  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process

  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Able to create compelling visual content aligned to/emphasizing key messages

  • Can provide a portfolio of previous visual communications work

  • Excellent active listening skills

  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships

  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal

  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations

  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere

  • Experience with SharePoint, PowerPoint required

  • Must be a team player and collaborator

  • Change Management Certification a plus
