Director of Technology, Commercial Presales Serves as a senior technical advisor to Global Sales and Presales leadership and is responsible for identifying those components that most impact the three pillars of sales (Strategic Selling, Product and Compete) from the presales perspective. Identify trends, refining and coordinating messaging, training internal teams, and working with complementary organizations within Dell Technologies. Assess and continue to refine the hiring profiles for Presales; defining skills, industry experience and soft skills for each of the account tiers within Global Commercial Sales. In conjunction with sales and presales senior leadership, develops strategies to promote knowledge and skills that secure the largest and most profitable opportunities for Dell EMC. Work directly with the individual product Business Units and act as a conduit between them and the global sales leadership to provide input for product development, road map, and requirements as seen within the commercial market. Surface information regarding conditions in the field, market trends and consumer demands to senior Presales and Engineering leadership. Works closely with senior presales leaders and Theater Field CTO Leads to identify talent and develop mentorship strategies for high potential presales individuals. Develop and own the Principal SE development path for Advisory SE for Global Commercial Presales.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the Theater Field CTO leads to create ways to scale the skills of the Field CTO’s and Advisory SE’s and bring those skills to the rest of the Account SE’s
Develop and maintain the hiring profiles for Account SE appropriate to each of the account tiers.
Help develop new sales messaging and approaches for Dell EMC products and services based on emerging industry trends. Be the senior technical resource that models, educates, and mentors senior leaders on how to use these new strategies
Act as a liaison between Global Commercial Sales/Presales to members of the Dell EMC product business units to provide direct feedback to the product teams.
Develop consistent use, maintain, and evaluate the applicability of the Account Se tool sets and ensure that they continue to provide value to the organization.
Candidate’s responsibilities should include involvement with the following:
Competitive understanding of the different storage vendors offerings from HDS, IBM, Oracle, NetApp, etc.
Excellent presentation skills in front of all levels of the IT Organization
Detailed product knowledge. Previous hands-on experience in the data center environment, with expertise spanning storage, BRS, virtualization, convergence, Cloud and/or Big Data
Ability to work effectively with senior management.
Ability to manage in a matrix environment.
Ability to influence others to achieve results.
