The Transformation Office of Virtustream is entrusted by the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to manage the intersection of people, process and technology to define new ways of working at Virtustream. Our purpose is to deliver and enable the future-state cross functional operating model, processes and technologies that position Virtustream to accelerate our strategic

growth objectives.

Role Purpose / Objective:

The purpose of the Program Manager role in the transformation office is oversee/manage/facilitate the successful execution of key initiatives falling under the Transformation Office umbrella. The major areas of accountability for this role are:

  • Planning, managing and directing complex, cross-functional projects and/or programs consisting of one or more project teams

  • Ensuring on time project completion, within budget, and in alignment to planned project objectives and business outcomes for assigned projects

  • Monitoring project and provides direction to ensure that project managers and/or project team members achieve project goals.

  • Effectively facilitating communication and interaction between the functional representatives and stakeholders

Principal Responsibilities

  • In partnership with finance, develop business case and project budget

  • Ensure preparation, socialization, finalization of project/program timelines and plans, working with stakeholders in the organization.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to secure project resources

  • Direct/coach the activities of project team members, work stream leads and project managers (for large programs) to ensure on time project completion

  • Monitor and report on program/project scope and scope changes, ensuring that anticipated business benefits are realized.

  • Facilitate communication and interaction between the functional representatives and stakeholders within a project / program

  • Ensure integration across related projects in the portfolio through collaboration with other project/program leaders, other peers and other stakeholders.

  • Provide timely reporting regarding status of programs/projects to the Transformation Office leadership as well as to stakeholders in the wider organization

  • Adhere to all applicable policies within the organization including appropriate use of approved tools and methodologies.

  • Coordinate with Change Management team to ensure optimal employee adoption

  • Support communication efforts as needed to create/maintain awareness of the program/project benefits and status.

Required Experience / Skills / Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology or related field

  • Minimum of ten years of experience acting as program or project manager.

  • Minimum of three years acting as program manager.

  • Project/program management experience in a complex, global, matrixed environment

  • Ability to influence key stakeholders / functional owners and build consensus

  • Able to unify different perspectives and harness the power of strong personalities toward achievement of common goals

  • Able to communicate effectively across various levels within the organization

  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships with peers and project team members

  • PMP certification is a strong plus

  • Previous experience in cloud services preferred; technical service/software project management a must

  • Able to work effectively in fast paced environment, balancing shifting priorities
