Dell Software Principal Engineer - UI, C# .Net in Overland Park, Kansas

Job Description:


Works with Product and Engineering to bridge the gap between business and technical concerns, provides technical expertise in developing solutions to complex software engineering problems, which require frequent use of ingenuity and creativity. Responsible for defining product technical designs/blueprints and ensuring its compatibility and completeness with the product roadmap. Responsibilities will include designing to and influencing the product roadmap, working with Product Management to ensure technical viability, and shepherding engineering execution. Deliverables include but are not limited to product architectural blueprints, working with engineering management to lay out design goals, and prototype and prove technology concepts and plans.


Work with Product Management, Engineering Leadership, and Product Marketing Management to ensure strategic projects are designed to best integrate into existing products or succeed as new products or product features.

Provide the engineering team with the architectural blueprints and exemplars to ensure success, follow through and evangelize these efforts among engineering leadership to ensure adoption.

Provide technical expertise and transparency in both directions between product teams and the cross-product Architecture organization.

Strong technical mastery of enterprise user interface architecture a must, including UI desktop and mobile technologies, responsive design, and web services.


 Ability to lead, motivate and direct a workgroup.

 Ability to influence, advocate and evangelize cross functionally to achieve results.

 Ability to prioritize and manage projects and/or deliverables working within a diverse collaborative team.

 Strategic planning abilities.

 Ability to work effectively with senior and executive management.

 Expertise in industry trends and technology related to UI platforms.

 Experience with .NET, C#, JavaScript, ExtJS, Sql Server, Web Services.

 Ability to drive accurate and timely decisions with indirect management.



BS (Technical)

Experience Required: Typically requires 10+ years of professional experience and 7+ years diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization and people motivation skill (or equivalent experience).
