Dell Advisor, Proj/Prog Mgmt - IT Configuration Management in ROUND ROCK, Texas

Overview:

A member of the Federal IT OPS team within the Dell Federal Network. The Configuration Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Configuration process, ensuring all process activities are properly performed.

Responsibility:

· Manages the configuration and data management processes for the program, including interpretation of contract requirements, formal configuration baseline control, developmental configuration documentation, contract data requirements delivery, program library, and functional and physical configuration audits.

· Utilize configuration management tools including but not limited to Cherwell, System Center Operations Manager, System Center Configuration Manager, and KACE to store, track, and manage configuration items.

· Build, monitor, and report distribution metrics.

· Perform regular audits to verify proper operation of configuration management infrastructure and validate reported compliance.

· Participates in all Change Advisory Boards. (CAB)

· Follow change, incident, request, and problem management procedures.

· Ensure strict compliance to contractual service level agreements (SLA).

· Responsible for documenting, maintaining, operating, and continuously improving the Configuration Management process.

Requirements:

· Must be US citizen and work on premises.

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

· 5-10 years of experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development

· Self-motivated, can take autonomy for tasks within their responsibility.

· Querying databases and generating reports.

· General understanding of networking, servers, and storage.

Preferences:

· ITIL V3 Foundations Certification or experience

· ITSM tool knowledge (Cherwell a plus)

· Asset and Configuration Management tool experience
