Customer Solution Center - Proof of Concept Engineering
As part of the DELL EMC Customer Solution Center’s the Proof of Concept Engineering team is focused on providing customer confidence that the proposed solution/architecture will satisfy their specific requirement. POCs are designed to support sales opportunities which are dependent on the successful completion of a POC test plan to move the customer towards making a final purchasing decision. These are often competitive situations that require performance testing, BC/DR scenarios and application integration. This allows the customer to test drive all the physical/virtual infrastructure elements in their IT Transformation journey to the cloud. The Customer Solution Centers have invested in our POC capability across the globe in the Americas | EMEA | APJ to provide centralised in-theatre capabilities Our goals are to develop trust and open communications with our customers and to close, retain, win business for DELL EMC.
Overview of the Role –
The role requires both architectural and implementation level knowledge/expertise across a broad range of technologies and the ability to lead and work as part of a dynamic team of DELL EMC professionals.
As a senior member of the POC technical staff you will be expected to lead complex customer engagements, provide regular contributions to existing technical communities both internal and external to DELL EMC, establish technical best practices and act as a technical mentor to others. The role is field and customer facing and plays a critical part in demonstrating/validating our capabilities directly to DELL EMC customers/partners as part of the sales cycle.
Excellent IT architectural knowledge and implementation skills
Expertise in of one or more Storage/Backup technologies
Application and database knowledge is desirable (Oracle, MS SQL, Hadoop and Mongo DB)
Expert in one/more Virtualization platform/s – eg VMWare or MS HyperV
Extensive UNIX, Linux and Windows knowledge including system administration, clustering, network administration, debugging and troubleshooting is required.
Extensive knowledge of Network and System management technologies
Knowledge of programming frameworks and scripting languages (Java, Ruby, Python, nodeJ, Perl, Bash)
Knowledge of Orchestration/Automation tools desirable
Knowledge of RESTful, SOAP web services desirable
Be a self-motivated, strong problem solver, team player, and effective communicator demonstrating strong written, verbal and presentation skills

Bachelors (Tech) or equivalent
7+ years in a senior technical role
