Role Summary:

The Sr. Director for Pivotal Labs will be responsible for the overall success of Pivotal’s customer engagements across theEast region,including offices inBoston, NYC, DC, and Atlanta. Partnering closely with Labs Leadership, he/she will have responsibility for the appropriate positioning and successful use of Pivotal Labs software services, utilization of teams, application services revenue and gross margins, and for operating our overall delivery strategy throughout the region.

This position will be based inNYC or DCand will require frequent travel to customer sites and other Pivotal offices.

The Sr. Director will incorporate leading Agile, Lean, and User Centered Design methodologies to sell and execute on world-class product development. He/She will be critical to expanding and supporting the team of amazing Pivots at Pivotal Labs, and help shape our thought leadership in the product development space. You will constantly work collaboratively with our Labs Leadership team to help define and reach targets, such as revenue and utilization.

In this role, you will manage local leadership teams within the region, consisting of Office Directors, Associate Directors and Managers, and provide coaching expertise based on 360-feedback and professional development plans. You will be critical to expanding and supporting the team of amazing Pivots at Pivotal Labs, and help shape our thought leadership in the product development space. In addition, you will also be responsible for partnering with Sales, Customer Success Organization (CSO) and R&D teams to drive adoption of Pivotal software products, as measured by project-level adoption and product bookings. The ideal candidate will work effectively with the sales organization and ensure office leadership is qualifying sales leads and supporting the sales organization in closing business.

Responsibilities

  • Be a critical member of the Labs Leadership team with primary responsibility for service delivery and customer success

  • Manage the success of the region as measured by revenue, gross margin, software sales, and other business metrics.

  • Champion the Pivotal way of working and approach to modern continuous and iterative software delivery practices.

  • Be the ‘go to’ person for Customer success across the region, setting a gold standard for all our field teams to aspire to, closely collaborating with the sales teams and engaging with customers at an executive level where appropriate.

  • Partner with Sales, CSO and R&D teams to drive adoption of Pivotal software products, as measured by project-level adoption and product bookings

  • Work effectively with the larger Pivotal Customer Success Organization (CSO) to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to client relationships.

  • Through hiring or recruitment of a delivery partner ecosystem, ensure the Pivotal application services organization is dimensioned to meet the growth of our business

  • Develop and maintain a healthy team by ensuring regional leadership receives guidance and clear business direction. Support career growth and development opportunities.

  • Influence the attach and use of Pivotal’s software products among Labs clients.

  • Create a high performance, ‘can-do’, collaborative culture and implement systems and process to ensure highest levels of productivity and accountability across the Labs organization.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Senior leader with demonstrable track record of success managing service delivery in a software and/or technology solutions arena

  • Deep understanding and appreciation of modern lean enterprise and agile approaches to software and service delivery

  • Extensive experience managing large technical/service delivery teams, ideally in the software/services industry

  • Preferred experience working in a similar role with a consultancy or organization

  • Operational management skills in budgeting, financial management, forecasting, reporting and developing key performance metrics

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, including presentation skills
