The person in this role is, or will become, an expert both in Business Continuity and in the business unit for which they will be supporting. The PM receives direction from the Enterprise Business Continuity Program Lead, but serves as a Project Manager in their own right; providing guidance to members of business units which are in need of establishing or maturing their Business Continuity capability. This role is all about solving for continuity of operations for our critical business functions and our customers through the sustaining of business unit-level BC programs in alignment with the Enterprise-level BC program.
Additional crisis Management responsibilities are involved, including occasional 24/7 support of crisis events, (estimated at 5% of the time.) Some minimal travel may be necessary.
Serves as chief advocate for business units seeking to achieve to the annual BC deliverables; monitor, measure and report on business progress.
Lead a team of Business Continuity Planners who may require frequent guidance and training.
Maintains accountability for their programs’ success or shortcomings.
Conduct training classes for business audiences.
Learn to utilize RSAs Archer platform for managing BC Plans.
Serve as key member of ER council.
Drive cross-functional projects through influence and negotiation while maintaining positive relationships with business stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing and shifting priorities.
5-10 years project/program management, with experience leading project teams
Expertise in professional project management practices.
Rigorous attention to detail; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to concisely communicate concepts.
Known by peers for working well with others and bringing others along with their cause.
Excellent business management skills including process engineering.
Professional certifications with DRII or BCI.
ISO 22301 or 27001 certifications.
